Format

This is an 8-week discussion-based course in metaphysics for 30 learners.  We’ll regularly read selections/consume media, then submit and vote on questions for a weekly dialectic discussion. Expect this syllabus to expand significantly along the way.

Our focus will be on synthesizing insights from ancient and contemporary sources. We’ll engage with philosophy, film, narrative, mythology, though-experiments, and web3. There will be basic required reading each week paired with ever-evolving, optional, choose-you-own-adventure style supplements. Click the upcoming session in the schedule below to access materials.

I’ll also be available for weekly drop-in co-learning sessions if anyone wants to explore course material more thoroughly.

The end of the course will feature optional opportunities for groups to collaborate on Society Journal publications.

No philosophical experience required.

• Eight Thursday afternoon dialectic discussions on Zoom
• Informal, async discussions on Discord
• Weekly philosophical readings (~30-45 mins) linked here on Notion
• Optional end-of-course publication project on Mirror

Commitment

• Able to complete light weekly readings (~30-60 mins)
• Willing to engage with the material on Discord
• Available to attend most of our 8 weekly Zoom sessions
